Visual Design Principals

Visual design principles can be used to make web sites more readable and attractive.

Four visual design principles:
  1. Alignment
  2. Proximity
  3. Repetition
  4. Contrast

Short definitions of these design principles:

Design Principle Definition
Alignment Items on the page are lined up with each other
Proximity Items that are physically close to each other have an inferred proximity
Repetition Certain elements throughout a project are repeated
Contrast Differences in text size, font color, graphics, and texture that create focal points where appropriate
