Below is a screencast of my lesson plan project for ITEC 7430, Internet Tools for the Classroom. I used Screencast-o-matic to record my screencast. The project required the use of 3 or more Web 2.0 tools. The students used Wikispaces, Prezi, Timetoast, and Screencast-o-matic in a study of Bryson's Shakespeare: Life as Stage. I collaborated with a 12th grade English teacher. The project was a lot of fun. It hit almost all of the NETS-S standards and addressed Bloom's Taxonomy as well. I will use it again next year.

Your activity using the Time-cast has my attention and I plan to use this tool too. The progress of disease occurs over time and this tool can show outbreak events similar to how your students used it to reflect the events of a life. Collaboration advances learning and I have learned form your instructions here.

Edith, I really liked the self-reflection element you used to bring closure to the project. I especially liked that you asked them to reflect not only on their work, but on how they worked together with the others in their group.

Edith, I enjoyed viewing your Screen Cast. The first thing that caught my attention is the timeline your students created using Time Toast. I am working on timelines with my second graders next week. We are going to create a timeline of their lives from birth until 2nd grade so I will be exploring this tool over the weekend to get my ideas and thoughts together for this lesson.

Edith, you did a wonderful job using your Web 2.0 tools in your lesson. Prezi is a fun tool to create slides with your 12th graders. The slides were colorful and creative. Did your student know how to use Prezi or did you have to teach Prezi to them? The lesson was a success and I encourage you to continue to use your lesson with students so they can experience use this technology tool.

I love the screencast self reflection piece. That is a great way to incorporate higher level Bloom's. Having students to reflect upon their work gets them thinking about what they did and how they compared to their peers. The screencast reflection portion is a part I will complete with my students.
